Worm

Hungarian: kukac, fér-eg

Turkish: kurt (tr), kurtçuk (tr)
Uzbek: qurt (uz), qumursqa
Latvian: cirmenis
Finnish: kärpäsentoukka
Dutch: made
German: Made
Finnish: mato
Swedish: maggot

From Middle English magot, magotte, probably Anglo-Norman alteration of maddock ("worm", "maggot"), originally a diminutive form of a base represented by Old English maþa (Scots mathe), from common Germanic root *mathon-, from the Proto-Indo-European root *math-, which was used in insect names. Near-cognates include Dutch made, German Made and Swedish mask. The use of maggot to mean a fanciful or whimsical thing derives from the folk belief that a whimsical or crotchety person had maggots in his or her brain.
At the end of my wit

Old English forms are: wicca [masc., sing., "witch"], wicce [fem., sing., "witch"], wiccan [pl. "witches"], wiccian [verbal infinitive, "to bewitch"]. Each of these terms has a geminate velar (reflected in Old English as "cc"). A term "vekka", "sorcerer", is attested in Old Danish (Saxo Grammaticus's Gesta Danorum) and reflects an older form "vitka", a contraction of "vitugr" meaning "wise one." According to Sophus Bugge, a well known Danish philologist, the medial "t" in a "tg" or "tk" combination would be lost, causing the "g" or "k" to geminate (double), which is how the term "vitka" is transformed to "vekka". So: vitki; vekke; or vitka ) vekka. This is the same principle by which we derive the term "wicca" -- that at one time there was a medial "t" which was reflective of the "t" in "wit". So: witca ) wicca; and witce ) wicce. (Or "witch," which has the "t" back in the word. TJ) By the same token, the Old High German "wicken" "to work magic" is possibly reflective of a reconstructed form *witken, to exercise one's knowledge.

UBER means sorcerer in Turkish.
OB means a necromancer or spirit medium in Hebrew (the Witch of Endor was Bahalath-Ob)
OBA is the name for Shaman idols, same as Uba, but in old Mongol.

Semitic

Hebrew: rimmā 'maggot' [KB 1241], pB. 'worm, esp. the worm in man's grave' [Ja. 1481]. Attested almost exclusively in poetry (especially Job), al- ways with the meaning 'grave worm(s)' (so also Sir 7.17 and 10.11). The only non-poetic attestation is different since r. is used to denote worms in food (Ex 16.24: wǝlō(ʔ) hibʔīš wǝ- rimmā lō(ʔ) hāyǝtā bō 'and it did not rot and there was no worm in it'). None of the passages allows to establish whether r. was an animal name denoting the worm itself or a more general term meaning 'something rotten, putrid, worm-eaten' (cf. Arb. below). Parallelism with tōlēʕā 'worm' (in Sir 10.11 also kinnīm 'gnats' and rämäš 'creeping creatures') seems to favour the first sug- gestion, however.
Aramaic: D.-Alla rmh 'vermin' [HJ 1077]. In II.8 (wrmh mn gdš 'and worms from a grave'), difficult contextg (cf. [Hackett 62]). Sam. rmh 'worm' [Tal 838].
Judaic Aramaic: rymh 'type of worm' [Ja. 523].
Syrian Aramaic: remtā 'situs et vermes in rebus putridis' [Brock. 732]
Mandaic Aramaic: rima 'vermin, worms' [DM 433].
Arabic: rimmat- 'fourmi ailée' [BK 1 920], [Fr. II 189], [Lane 1151], [LA XII 255]. The same term is also translated as 'teredo' in [Fr.], 'word-fretter' in [Lane] and ʔal-ʔaraḍatu in [LA] (where this usage is regarded as dialectal). At the same time, cf. the meaning 'morceau de corde vielle et usée; os carié; pourriture, vermoulure' in [BK 1 920], 'cadavre, charogne' in [Dozy I 557].
Notes: It is not impossible that this root is represented in Ugari- tic: - in 1.12 I 11 where mrm may be understood as a collective formation with the mV-prefix meaning 'worms, maggot': kbdn kʔiš tʔikln // t_dn km mrm tḳrṣn 'they are eating our inside like fire // our breast like worms they are gnawing' (cf. [Caquot-Sznycer 335]). This interpretation is not accepted in [DLU 288] and [Del Olmo Mitos 583] where the form in question is understood as a pl. from *mr 'сría de animal, cachorro' (supposed to be borrowed from Assyrian mūru) which is not very convincing (cf. No. ... ); - in 1.2 IV 3-4 where ʔirtm may be understood as a Gt per- fect form with the meaning 'became infested with maggot' whereas tlʕm in the next line is understood as a pl. of tlʕ 'worm' (so [de Moor ...]). This understanding becomes more attractive in view of mnm which ʔirtm according to the current edition of KTU and can be plausibly identified with Akk. mūnu 'сaterpillar' SB, NA [CAD m2 207] well known as a destructive being in Akk. lite- rature.

Worm, a kukac

From Middle English worm, werm, wurm, wirm, from Old English wyrm 'snake, worm', from Proto-Germanic *wurmiz, from Proto-Indo-European *wr̥mis (compare Latin vermis ''worm', Lithuanian var̃mas 'insect, midge', Albanian rrime 'rainworm', Ancient Greek όμος rhómos 'woodworm'), possibly from *wer- 'to turn'.

Gondban vagyok. A farkas szavunkat a svédektől loptuk, vagy az Indiai óceán partjáról ? /vark/. Ruv - wolf - gypsy language

A farkashoz hasonlóan beszélhetünk a szarvas magyar eredetéről is:
Finn sarvi:
From the same Proto-Finno-Ugric *œorwa as Estonian sarv and Hungarian szarv, which in turn is a loan from Proto-Indo-Iranian *œṛva, compare Persian شاخ (šâx).

Ellenben a BŐR változat mindben megtalálható. Érdekes továbbá, hogy több latin nyelvben a farkas LOP. Viszont Kínában a róka LOPÓ.
A szláv nyelvekben a farkas VOLK, mivel falk-ában jár. A lett, litván, lengyel VILK nincs kapcsolatban a VILKABAMBA dél-amerikai szóval, miként a mongol CSON sem a "kará-cson-y" szavunkkal.
Az északi svéd, norvég és gilaki nyelv a farkas VARG változatát használja. Innét származik a "warka váza". Szanszkriték félrehallották: "vR^ika = wolf", de ők a veddát is "vetta"-ként hallották. (English wit?)

Ha már a gilaki nyelv szóba került, megemlítenék egy-két szót:
murgh = tyúk (madár helyett), ez a perzsában morgh
piča = cica/macska, ami a perzsában piši
pila = nagy, perzsául bozorg
per = apa, perzsa pedar
si = hegy, perzsa kuh (rokon a mongol "süm=temple"?)
kenes = érintés, perzsa tamās
purd = híd, perzsa pol

Finnugorok: Balatoni sas:
Aragonese: aliga

Catalan: "cuc" meg a "kukac".
Az aliga szót a tamanások Óceániában is megtalálták.
