Mikor a tűzoltás áldozatának vége, akkor előhoznak egy nagy fakereket. Annak a küllői kilencféle fából készültek. Ennek a keréknek az agyán egy hosszú kőrisfa rudat tolnak keresztül; ezt kell két szűz legénynek addig dörzsölni a kerék agyán át, míg az meggyulladt tőle, így támad az új tűz...

Kunhalom

Előttem, balra - vagy három kilométer a szántáson át - kunhalom. Tűzhalom, marhajárás útjelző tüzei égtek arra akkoriban, amikor nagy gulyákat hajtottak erre Debrecen alól Bécs alá. Kunhalomnak kell mondani, mert aki messziről jött, az kunhalomnak tudja és ellenkezni vele nem lehet.

From the 10th century on, following the Byzantine design, the single and triple mounds appeared, representing the three hills of Calvary.
In ancient Mesopotamia, in China and in Egypt, the pictograph of three mounds was used to represent the concept of "country".
In Sumer, circa 3400 B.C., the triple mound pictograph (three wedge-shaped symbols in Assyria) meant "country, mountainous country, foreign country".
In China the three mounds mean "mountain", in Egypt the meaning is "foreign country", . . . mountainous country occupied by other people.
